Start with the plugin ZIP, connect your affiliate API key, then add course blocks and widgets to posts or pages.

Prepare and install

  • Download the plugin ZIP file.
  • Log into WordPress as an administrator.
  • Open Plugins > Add New, then choose Upload Plugin.
  • Upload the DragonZap plugin ZIP, install it, and activate it.

Connect your account

  • Navigate to DragonZap > Settings in WordPress.
  • Paste your affiliate API key from the DragonZap dashboard.
  • Confirm your affiliate email and currency display.
  • Save the connection to verify access to https://affiliate.dragonzap.com/api/v1/api/v1.

Publish courses

  • Add the DragonZap related courses widget to your single post template.
  • Insert shortcodes or blocks for individual advertisements.
  • Preview pricing, commission notes, and calls to action.
  • Let automatic syncs keep catalog updates current.

Sync and scheduling tips

  • Run an initial manual sync after connecting to confirm credentials.
  • Use cron-based syncing for production sites; WP-Cron is adequate for smaller blogs.
  • Enable email alerts in the plugin for sync failures or API auth issues.
  • Keep permalink structures simple, such as /blog/%postname%.
  • Update the plugin immediately if you rotate affiliate API keys.

Troubleshooting checklist

  • Verify hosting allows outbound HTTPS requests to affiliate.dragonzap.com/api/v1.
  • Confirm the API key has products.list and promotions.view scopes.
  • Flush WordPress permalinks if shortcode pages return 404 errors.
  • Contact support with the timestamp of the failure and recent log entries.
